I am still around

Its been a wild month or so . One of my dogs had 5 puppies,one of my goats had a baby girl .Another one of my dogs got bit by a copperhead snake 3 times and we thought we would lose her . She is doing great now .Plus my computer crashed . My 700.00 laptop I am very PO about this . please be careful when windows does those dam updates . If they don't go in right they will crash and kill your hard drive . So now i need a new hard drive . Did you ever wonder WHY windows has so amny updates ? doesn't say much about the quality of there product . photo's of art work to come in a few days .

I have been busy with my farm stuff and haven't done much art lately. Plus its been 100 degrees almost every day . We are cooking here .LOLOL Some one asked me the other day why I do art and I told them I would have to think about that . Art for me takes on many directions . I mostly do art as a stress reliever. I can escape my real world crap and go into my art world , I can escape all the days bull shit and disappear in to another world . I also do art as a way of expressing myself . For years I was a tole painter and just found that art form after a while it became boring . If you know what I mean . So when I quit doing it it was a changing event in my life . Art gives me the confidence and security with in myself to know that I am important to me . I hate to see women give up so much of themselves for other people. Everyone need a place to go to feel good about themselves and in turn it makes them better people for there family's . I have to admit when I don't get to do art I am a BITCH!!!!. LOLOLOL I hope that at the end of my life I will be remembered as an artist who inspired others to be artist. To make time for themselves to be important to themselves . Well all for now . I have some gardening to do and my silly goats need to get out and play for a while .

This is my cute little studio . Its small 8x10 foot but shes all mine . Its messy most of the time but it is a working studio so i don't mind the mess LOLOL I have alot of my swap pieces hanging up from my friends . journals are sitting in the windows . I have some of my friends Terry, Dove and Cheri art work in there hanging up . Plus we did the heart swap on my group and they heart are hanging over the window . This is my space where I go to escape the world and fly into the world of art .

Well I am finally able to do some posting . Hubby had the last couple of weeks off so we were working around the farm and I didn't have time to do any posting. So here are a few post of some of the classes I have been taking . "Roses on my table " on the ning network . (Link is in my side bar ) it is a great place to take classes from Zinnia and she is reasonably priced so they are affordable . She also lets you download the video which is a plus nowadays . I have joined in with this group of wonderful artist and will be doing the sketchbook challenge every month with them . I wanted my cover to my book to reflect who I am and the art I like to do . I saw on one of the blogs a wonderful name page . I have never done one and thought why not ? I really enjoyed making it . Jan theme is "Highly Prized " .This was an easy one for me . I cherish my life . I have a wonderful husband of 28 years who has alway surported my art. We live on our farm( that was our dream for a long time ) . I raise wonderful funny dairy goats which I love . Our life hasnt alway been easy in fact its never been easy LOLOL But we had each other and this is what I highly prize.

This is a 5x7 canvas that was part of a round robin on my art group. We had done one using just black and white and enjoyed it so much we decided to try another RR using 2 colors and a metallic. So I use blue, turquoises and gold . I love the way it came out . Thanks lady's great job.

I started this journal in 2009. It was made from a calendar and it was for a round robin that didn't happen . So I set it aside and forgot about it . These are made from matchboxes .I call them my butterfly houses . You can see the inside holds tiny butterflies.

This is 7 little canvas's that I glued on to a heavy piece of card stock then altered, painted and played with till I like it . Then I glued the whole thing to a piece of wood which I painted before hand

This one I really love . Its my "I finally got it "one . You know when you have been working to learn a new Tu but you don't seem to be getting it . I feel I am finally getting it with this painting . Its my lastest . It is called Princess Splendor.

This one is called "Dreams are wishes". I did this one for my "World of Whimsy" class so I was just really working on the backgrounds.

This was a AOL chip wood box. I had joined a swap and when I found this among my stash I knew what I was going to do with it . The outside design is done using gesso and a foam stamp . then i painted over it to give it some color

This is the inside . the butterfly a tiger swallowtail is a real butterfly. and the other side is a cool sticker saying I got out of something ????? LOLOLOL then i hinged them together just using small pieces of ribbon . The girl who got it really loved it .

I painted this painting for Valentines day . I called "MISS VALENTINE" I really like the shyness of her .Like she is shy of showing her love for that special someone but yet really loves him terribly . I hope you enjoy her . She is a little late So have a belated Valentines day !

This was painting I did a few weeks ago . The stress in my life right now is the pitts . We are moving to our farm in a few months . Hubby's job is just hanging there by a thread and to keep this house we need to rent it out . We also lost our med insurance . His boss decided without much warning he just didn't want to pay for it anymore . The deal was he would pay for private insurance for 1 year but ours was high and he refused . When Hubby took the job the deal was he would pay for med insurance for the both of us .I guess that has slipped his mind . He will miss Hubby when he is gone More than he will ever know . So I have been painting to kick the ass out of stress . It is helping.

Well Happy New Year to you all . The beginnings of a new year for me is a start, a fresh look at whats ahead . I like to think and plan out what I might like and want to do for the year . But this year in America, it is grim I must say . People are losing jobs , Med insurance ( us) , there homes. gessh! Its hard to look at this year as a new beginning when you have all this shit going on . But I will stay positive for now . Try to look on the bright side after all we have a new president who has promised a change . Lots of new art projects I want to try out . Maybe a move ............. more on that later . A few years ago My friend gave us Butter . Well her grandson was very fond of Butter and has come over to visit her a few times . So I decided to make him a picture book of all the funny photos I had of her and give it to him. So I painted a picture of her on the cover and filled it with all the funny photos I have of her and gave it to him and he was thrilled , So I told him I would send him photos of her every now and again to put in his book . I just send him 4 more .

" Fly me to the moon", Is my latest painting. This one I tryed not to over crowd the background. I am not sure how I like that LOLOLOL . But every painting is a learning one . And I am still learning.

On the Suzi Blu network we are doing projects every 2 weeks and this was our first one . To make a Hat or a Crown . It was a fun project. We could used a headband . I used a halloween crown I brought and went from there . scrapbook paper, ribbon, roses, stamped hearts,Tulle, glitter and whatever else i could find to fancy it up .

This is my first piece from my E class by Suzi Blu. Its been wonderful . I have learned so much about backgrounds and layering and how to do nice faces . I did a paper dress on this one but I don't care for that so the next one I am going to do painted dresses .This is done on watercolor paper with watercolor paint, acrylic, stamping, stenciling, spongeing,doilies, tissue paper and glitter.

I am going to go and buy a laptop today I am taking an eclass with Suzi Blu and I cant watch the videos she makes on my DVD player as I can only put them on CDs. Plus I am going to the farm for a few weeks . I need to get out of this neighborhood for a while . I am housebound . I had a friend in my neighbors next door but she is as crazy as an old bat . She thought I blabbed on of her " secrets " I didn't and now wont speak to me . The crazy thing is I knew she was always like this crazy and paranoid but for some reason didn't think she would not trust me . how foolish was that train of thought . Of course she never trusted me she didn't trust ANYONE!!!!!!! Thinks everyone here is out to get her, steal from her and damage what she owns . Christ where have I been living . I must have had my head up my dam ass to believe she even cared. Now I am lumped in with all the other "whores and thief's" (and names and words I refuse to use here.) I have retreated to staying inside and minding my own business because I know her mouth is very busy now blabbing about what a shitty friend I was . so I am going to the farm for a few weeks . Where it is peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. Where there is no crime, no drug dealers , no crazy old bats , whores , or thief's, no gossip or dirty looks . PEACE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE

Dotee Dolls

My group" altered art of visions and dreams" on yahoo has gone dotee doll crazy lately. These are just 2 of them I have made . We are doing a swap, an ATC swap , a Dotee doll challenge where one of the members gave everyone the same color fabric and said make a Dotee doll and lets see how it turns out . This came from a post from me saying that not everyone can be compared with each others and then thought of as good or bad because if we were given all the same piece of fabric or canvas and told to make the same thing it would be all different . Because we has people are all different . So It will be fun to see how this turns out .

I got my carton from Susan . Oh I love everything that was in it . She made me this lovely triangle handmde book that was all about nature . Susan you couldnt have picked a better subject for me LOLOLOL . And a beautiful match book draw box very pretty and a BIG felt bead LOLOLO which I love . Now I will get my cartons ready to mail and who will they be off to I wonder ................

This is an Art Journal cover I did for an art journal I made my self that I can take up to our farm/land . It was made with handmade paper on the outside and had some on the inside . I have added some more watercolor paper inside . Its tall about 12 to 15 inches tall so I think it will make a great journal for me ,

Spring Thyme Board Book

This is a Board book that I am working on . It has a spring theme. The cover is a combination of fabric and paper,beads and images . I have 2 spreads done in it so far . The daffodils are the first one . The daffys are some I watercolored then cut out and added a peom . The dragonfly is on the paper added some ink stain and a time flutters by sticker .The Pink flowers are a magazine cutout thats glued on to a paper background . Then found the Inspire words in a magazine and glued them to a paper background and then added the Robins Williams quote .

buttons from my button collection and then designed the fairies around them . I like bright colors so I wanted the fairies to be bold and bright like the buttons .

I just learned this today . Its called Cracked glass . Its the coolest thing. I love doing it. This is a stamp image that I colored with colored pencils then did the cracked glass over the top . Cool huh?

Mannequins

I did these 3 Mannequinns for a swap on the Gluebots Yahoo group I belong too. I really liked the way they came out . I painted the mannequinn with a bright blue then covered it in a paper lace. When it dryed it became so brillant I loved the color. Then I stamped the wings with embrossing ink and embrossed them with black. Then used my H2Os paint in 3 wonderful blues. Added some old lace at the bottom and my image and a ribbon at the top . All done .

I found this templete in the wedding area . It was just plain white and was for a centerpiece . I just saw so much in it I had to buy it and bring it home . The Blue lady I use the whole templete and just added the shoulders, head and arms . I had to adjust it alittle . The Poppy Girl I just used the skirt and added the whole blouse , head and arms . Both tops are stamps from Character Contruction . She has the greatest stamps . Dont ya think ?

Engagament calendar round robin

These 5 spreads were done in an engagament calendar round robin . The girl who own the book wanted to keep the pictures in the book . So I worked around them . I had a stamp with a creativity quote on it so I took that and typed it out so that it fit what I was doing . Colored penciled the images and emblished the pages and added added the quote . I really liked the way they came out .

Queen of all Butterflys

This is a small wooden box I found somewhere , Yard sale, flea market . I dont know . LOLOL It was painted with gold paint and has a sad faded blueish green flocked stuff on the inside . I knew just what I wanted to do with it the moment I saw it . The little doll Is made of a twig that has wire arms that I then wrapped in stuffing and then wrapped fabric over that . I wanted to her to have the feel of being cocooned so added the silk string in the front of her. She has angelina wings . She has the feeling of a mother, an old soul who is watching over her flock .

A touch of Spring

I know some many are having hard winters I thought I would show you a small touch of spring today . Many of you know my hubby and I own 14 1/2 ac of land in central VA. We are hoping to built a house with in the next 2 years and retire there . It is my place where I find peace . I feel so comfortable there its like I have alway lived there . Funny how that happens sometimes . We are going to name the farm "The farm of Acadia Blue " . Now I know you are wondering whats with all this acadia blue stuff . well I came to Va from New hampshire and My favorite place while I lived there was Acadia national park in Maine and Blue is my favorite color . But it goes on ..... When we first moved to VA I was terribly homesick and lonely so we got a dog . A yellow lab that I name" Acadia Blue" and we called her "Katie". She was my companion and best friend for 18 years . So I think you get the picture . When she past away in 2005 we had her creamted and will bury her ashes in a garden that I am now making for her . I feel her spirit there when ever we are there and she watches over us . We now have 3 dogs . Buster our big boy . He is becoming an old man now but still watches over us and protects like her should . hes still not to crazy about the girls . Phoebe and Butter Baby and the same age 3 years and are best girlfriends . They play all day long, they wear me out with all there rough housing . LOLOLOL Well I hope this little photo gives you all an uplift that Spring is on its way .

Crazy quilt family pillow

I made this pillow for a christmas gift for a family member . Those are my grandparents in the middle . I was surprzied how well the photo came out when I printed it on cotton . It was just a printed copy on paper. Then I printed the saying and Mother and Father out on a very light fabric that was backed by paper . I cant remember right off hand what it was . But I was pleased how well it all worked together . And the pillow was loved .

I found out today that yet another friend has cancer . This friend is so young . I seem to be surrounded by it lately . This friend I am worried about . This cancer can be very bad . I will keep her in my thoughts and in my heart . I was chatting with another friend about a group I used to be on . I loved being on this group but I became friends with a very mentally ill person ( I didnt know that at the time ) and ended up getting badly hurt by her which of course being in a group setting didnt stay between the two of us ( not my doing ) so there were alot of bad feeling toward me . Even though I didnt and still dont know what I did to this person for her to turn on me like she did . And I have since learned that she had and has since done this to many on the group . But anyways that is water under the bridge as they say . She was saying to me that alot of people have said that they miss me there and would like me to come back . that this hateful person isnt around much any more and that there alot of new people on the group and it has change alot . But I honestly have moved on and just dont think I want to go back to that again . I dont know why its so hard for others to be friends . Whats so hard about being a friend to someone . You either like them or you dont . Why go to all the trouble to getting to know them if you dont like them in the first place . LOLOL Any ways . all for now .

My first post on my new Blog

I decided I would start a real blog .LOLOL One I would write in as well as post photos of my art and of my life . It seemed like the right time to do this . I had another one in LJ but this pass year I just havent posted in it and my 360 blog I only post photos of my art projects I have finished and I dont say much . I am a women of few words though so I hope i can find enough to keep this one moving so to speak . LOLOLOL. I have been an artist all my life , painting and drawing since a child . Both my parents are painters as well as my grandmother . So it has followed the family lines . I did watercolor and pen and ink in high school and then dabbled in it again in my 20's. then in my 30's I went into tole painting off and on . When Hubby and I moved to Va from new Hampshire I went into Tole painting full time and painted to sell for 18 years at local art and craft shows . I retired from painting in oct 2004 simply because I was sick of it and want a change and also wanted to try and explore my inner artist and try new things . Boy I am glad I did . I love mixed media . And I discover a whole new world of art and artist on line . Its been a wonderful learning process for me . Well all for now .
